Das Abenteuer beginnt – the adventure starts
Nun geht es also wirklich los! Dienstag Abend, 22.August 2017, fängt das Abenteuer an. Abflug 19.55 Uhr vom Flughafen Tegel, Berlin. Hannelore holt mich ab. Normalerweise fahre ich auch gerne alleine zum Flughafen. Aber heute freue ich mich, dass Hannelore mich bringt. Wie immer plane ich eine viel, viel frühe Abfahrt ein. Aber Hanne ist das gewohnt. Ich bin immer zu früh. Alle Extrazeiten für Verkehr, die ich vorsorglich eingeplant habe, sind natürlich nicht nötig. Und so sind wir weit vor dem Öffnen des Flugschalters in Tegel. Endlich aber öffnet der Schalter und ich werde mein Gepäck los. Lediglich eine Reisetasche. 23kg. Das erlaubte Gewicht habe ich zu Hause mit der Waage kontrolliert und brav jedes möglich Gramm mit etwas Wolle austariert. „Man“ weiss ja nie, was Frau alles unterwegs tun will. Aus meiner Erfahrung mit Neuseeland weiss ich nämlich, dass einfarbige Sockenwolle in Down Under fast nicht zu bekommen ist. Und ich will …….?????? Ganz viel!!!!Bestimmt!!!!!
Nachdem das Gepäck abgegeben ist, trinken wir noch etwas und dann verabschieden wir uns auch schon. Ich kann es kaum abwarten , dass es endlich wirklich los geht!

Now I really start the adventure! Tuesday evening , 22nd of August 2017, is the departure from Berlin, Tegel. Normally I love to go by my own to the airport. But today I am happy that my girlfriend Hannelore brings me. Like every time I plan to much time for arriving at the airport. Nothing on the way what stops us. No traffic, no accident, nothing. So we arrive much too early. But my girlfriend knows how I am. We arrive before opening the counter. So we have to wait.
At the end they open the counter and I can check in my luggage in. Only one bag. 23kg. At home I controlled the weight with my scale. And each free space I used for knitting wool. I know!! But you don’t find a lot of sock wool in a single color down under. Specially where I wish to be. And I wish to…..????? A lot!!! Certain!!!!
After the luggage is on its way we just drink something and then we say Good Bye! I can hardly believe that I start now!
